Live Like You Were Dying

November 8th, 2020 | Tony Howeth | Philippians 2:17-18

How would we live if we had 30 days remaining? What a question!

  • What would we change?
  • How would we spend our time?
  • What would we do with our life?

The truth is each of us are running down the clock. We have a set time to live. How are we going to live our lives for Jesus?

  1. You Must Make the Choice
  • Paul lived with a clock in his soul, he lived like he was dying. That enabled him to live like he was dying.
  • It's a personal choice to pour your life out for Jesus
  • Do you want to live a life devoted to Jesus?
  • This is where we find ourselves at a crisis point!
  • This is the choice to be excited about serving Jesus.
  • Who will you serve?
  1. With Your Choice Must Come Commitment
  • Good intentions without commitment are of little worth
  • In our churches, we've never had a lack of choices, but we have a lack of commitment
  • Everything that is done for Christ demands commitment!

And people who do not know the Lord ask why in the world we waste our lives as missionaries. They forget that they too are expending their lives... and when the bubble has burst they will have nothing of eternal significance to show for the years they have wasted. - Nate Saint

  1. Your Choice to be Committed to God Involves People
  • We're not hermits or monks, we work with peole
  • The Apostle Paul's mindset was that his life would be an offering poured out into other's lives.
  • This is an expression of one of our core values, "Others First"
  • Am I willing to spend and be spent?

Are you willing to spend and be spent; not seeking to be ministered unto, but to minister? Some saints cannot do menial work and remain saints because it is beneath their dignity. - Oswald Chambers
