A Life Well Lived

October 25th, 2020 | Kevin Hall | Genesis 50:15-26

Genesis 50:15-26

1. See the Goodness of God in My Life - vs.20

Joseph gained perspective. His early life was fraught with incredibly difficult circumstances brought on by his own brothers! However, as he looked back on all that had happened, he saw God's hand in everything.

But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. Genesis 50:20

2. Live as a Faithful Witness to the End & Pass on the Truth - vs.24

At the end of Joseph's life he was a living witness to his family that God was good and that he would not leave his people. You have a message to share, tell people about the hope that is found in Jesus Christ.

And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. Genesis 50:24

3. Keep a Traveling Spirit til the End - vs.25

Joseph understood something about the believer, "This world is not our home!" Egypt was not Joseph's home. He wanted his bones to be taken to the promised land. For the Christian, we look forward to our heavenly home and loosely hold the things of this world.

And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence. Genesis 50:25

4. Prepare for Death - vs.26

We must live every day in light of the fact that our lives are finite. We have a time to live for Jesus, and it is today!

So Joseph died, being an hundred and ten years old: and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt. Genesis 50:26
